Honors english 102
I can say with confidence that my writing skills have improved as a result of my experience in Honors English 102. At the time when I was actually writing the papers for my English 102 class, I only focused on getting them finished and I did not concentrate on how much I was gaining from the actual writing experience. Looking back, I now realize that with each paper written, I enhanced my ability to write tremendously, both from techniques that Professor
Zipfel taught us and from many hours of practice. Professor Zipfle focused on improving our writing in many ways – two ways in particular were revision and consolidation. Every single paper that I wrote for this class had to be rewritten. I had never had to do this before, but it has made all the difference in the world. There is no possible way to write a perfect paper the first time around – it takes rereading and many revisions. In this class, we were also limited by the length of every paper. I have always loved writing, but I’ll admit I always “over-wrote”. In these times of Twitter, headlines, and immediate gratification, less is more. My ability to write effectively in fewer words have helped me in all forms of communication, most notably at my co-ops when I send out important emails. Out of every class I havetaken in college thus far, English 102 has been one of the most beneficial to me as a student and as a rising young professional.
** Below is a copy of my large research project that I wrote during my honors English 102 class. We were given the freedom to choose the topic and mine was "How technology in the modern world is changing the way business market and advertise". Please feel free to read at your leisure! ** Side note: My picture above relates to my paper.
