Character Based Leadership, taught by the esteemed William Bagley (Advisor at Barnes Dennig and author of Impact Interviewing), focuses on effective public speaking, corporate team building, and learned leadership styles. It is classes like this that have the biggest effect on me. I can learn math and social studies all day, but a class about how to be an effective leader? Heck - these skills will stay with me a lifetime! I worked in teams for presentations and projects, which helped me improve both as a speaker and as a team contributor. Mr. Bagley gave accolades to my presentation group of three by telling us that we were the best group of college presenters he had ever heard. I partly attribute this to my many years in musical theater and my many abilities growing up to speak in front of large groups of people.
At the end of my Character Based Leadership class, my 26 fellow Carl H. Lindner Honors-PLUS classmates and I spent a weekend at Camp Joy. It was during this weekend that my classmates and I grew together as a class and grew individually as leaders and team players.
I have tremendously benefitted from this class as I have applied what I have learned to other classes, extra-curricular activities and to my co-op jobs. Every day, I strive to be a better person and a better leader, and it is through classes like Character Based Leadership that I can do so.

The above document is the final presentation my group gave for character based leadership. We could talk about any topic so my group chose to discuss history's greatest orators and what it was that made them such impactful public speakers. Our presentation was successful and it also taught us a great deal about history's leaders and what it was that made them so well versed.

The above document is my final reflection on my Character Based Leadership class. I spent a long time reflecting on all that I had learned from this class. Forcing myself to go back through how I was impacted by my professor, curriculum, classmates, and the experience as a whole has truly opened my eyes to how much of a better leader and team player I had become, as a result.
